While I understand growth is inevitable, certain resources in Veneta are already stretched thin. Police and fire come to mind and while our current contract with LCSO seems to work most residents see it as a joke, bare minimal coverage and pretty much zero proactive policing and no traffic enforcement. Perkins Rd has turned into a freeway of sorts and speeds of 40 and up are the norm yet nothing is done. Promises are made but never followed up. The future of our little town? I for one hope not.

Mr. Gilligan's comments reflect my own feelings. Police, Fire, City Services, Schools should all be looked into to make sure adequate support is avialable for our town. Huston Rd S has turned into a Freeway of sorts, especially at certain times of the day. Veneta is a good place to live, but getting bigger and bigger may not be the right thing at this time.

When I moved here in 2015, Veneta was a “small town”. That is the reason I chose Veneta. I loved that everyone knew everyone and it’s a caring community. We all look out for one another.
